Yours, Mine, and Words

Plagiarism is one of the most concerning, yet, overlooked issues in the world today. Plagiarism may be considered stealing, as it is the act of copying, using, taking, or representing someone else's work, thoughts, or ideas as your own without the proper acknowledgements or permission of the author or writer. The act of stopping plagiarism is difficult due to the fact that it remains unclear of its definition and rules. However, many may be able to avoid plagiarism by means of; 1. Paraphrasing- This may be done by expressing the idea with the use of different words or your own. You may also add your own ideas (writhing relation to the topic). Using a thesaurus for synonyms may also help. 2. Referencing- Take note of every resource you used to write your work and create a reference list at the end of your paper citing each article you used. Keep in mind that you must use the appropriate format and guidelines instructed by your school or office.
